What is Map pricing ? Well, that means Minimum Advertised Price. Almost ALL Scuba Equipment manufacturers tell Dealers that they can’t advertise their products below x price. This is America, land of the free, home of the brave yet no Free Markets. They say it starts price wars, I say who cares.
Our advice is to always email or call a store and ask for a lower price than posted on their site.
Let say, if you email or call on a $1,099.95 Dive Computer and ask for $100 to $200 off, my bet is you will get it. You would get the reduced price if you called us.
Proof we put our money is where our mouth is . . . We received the following email on 9-12-2023:
“Hi, Can you give me a better price on a Pulse 8x detector with a 18″ drop coil for boat deployment? Shipped to Sydney. Nova Scotia Canada B2A4W8, thanks Mike”
We responded with: “Hello Mike,
We can take $200.00 USD and $50.00 USD off the 8x and coil.
That would be $3315.00 USD instead of $3565.00 USD.
Shipping would be most reliable with FedEx, which will cost $275.00 USD.
Grand total being $3,590.00 USD for both items, delivered . . .”
Now that is a Free Market.
Our bottom-line advice, literally, is . . . always email or call the seller. CALL US !!!
